I heard a song on Radio 2 approx 1 1/2 years ago which I fell in love with. I found it on youtube and listened to it a few times but it disappeared. Trouble is I now have limited info... It is sung by a man and it is about his relationship with his wife over the years and how basically they always have eachother in spite of the physical changes, ageing process etc Its a beatiful song, very poor description I knwo but I'm keeping hopeful.

Thanks in anticipaton,

Emma

Emmy - there are thousands of songs based on relationships between partners. Do you at least remember a line or some words from that song? Otherwise it's a dead end. Sorry.

I know in the Corus he compares present looks to old ones like 'though your face isn't as...' and that he wouldn't change things for the world. He is a very famous old singer, country/folk I believe. It is driving me mad! Sorry I know it is a real long shot. I know there were a few people who had played the song at their wedding... that's no help either!
Johnny Cash - Hurt ??
The description sounds like Ralph McTell's Naomi.

Thanks everyone, but unfortunately, though not suprisingly (from my description!) it's none of them. I remember their was nostalgic humour to the song, very romantic-reminiscent and I remeber thinking it sounds 'Grandaddy'.
So, it's not Amazed by Lonestar then?
emma, have you managed to remember anymore about the song - or even better found it????

Still no luck, and no further information, damn. I only heard it a few times so nothing particularly stands out. I'm sure it's quite old as the couple who had requested it were celeberating 40/50 years of marriage as I remember, and a soon to be wed couple were also playing it at their wedding. Maybe I'll never know what it was!
Ah, so was it a current release at the time you heard it? Might it have got into the charts?
I'm thinking Willie Nelson maybe? xx
Was it this one from "GiGi"? hope it works

Jim Reeves? x
For some reason I'm thinking that too, Bathsheba, but no song comes to mind yet :>(

Hey 4candles, no sorry it wasn't a new release at the time, the couple celebrating their anniversary had had their first dance to it many years ago. Raysparx1 I've had a llok and that's not it but thanks so much for your suggestion. Now, Willie Nelson is the closest I have heard and he looks familiar but had a good look at his songs and they don't ring a bell at the moment. Check a site out which gives bref previews of the songs but no good so far. It could well be him though, I hope so! X

"Time in a bottle" by Jim Croche?

Hi Luckyfish, not them I'm afraid but I got a couple of good songs to listen to now, great recommendations :) Factor30, I had heard that before and it is a beautiful song and one I will keep hold of. I am still on the hunt! I can remember doing that laugh and 'god I can imagine that when I'm older' finding the song funny and touch and crying with happiness/sadness.

We all know how annoying it is when you get something like this stuck in your head. I'm trying to inflict other people with the problem now lol ;)
well emma, keep us posted when you remember, cause the song must have some special words if you still think of them...
i thought BEAUTIFUL IN MY EYES was very likely but now i'm all out of ideas - sorry :(
