I'm looking for an oldies hit with the chorus "I've looked at love from both sides now, from give and take and still somehow, love's illusions I recall, I really don't know love at all

It's called Both Sides Now, and was recorded by Judy Collins in the late 60's/early 70's. Not sure where you'd get a copy - maybe on a compilation?

this site is fantastic!!!!!I can't believe i got an answer so quickly, Thanks
Paul Young also did a lovely haunting version of Both Sides Now with Clannad. It's on Paul's 'From Time to Time' CD, available on Amazon. (listening to it now, makes me go all goose-pimply!)
The song was actually written by Joni Mitchell and you'll find it on two of her albums "Clouds" and on "Both Sides Now". I understand her version also features on the Soundtrack CD for the film "Love Actually". It depends which version you remember or are looking for....good luck and hope you find it!
Glen Cambell had Both Sides Now on his 20 Golden Greats (1976)
