Hi,
I asked a friend of mine who's a session bassist. Here's his reply:-
As for the cab... I'm not really sure. I thought that the Laney RB4 bass amp was a 160w bass combo and so came with a 15" celestion speaker attached. On saying that if this person is looking to add another speaker for "more efficiancy" I believe that this model comes with a speaker connection for 1x Jack (8 Ohms External). So on that basis I would probably look at adding a Laney RB-115 (Replaces R-115) or a Laney RB-410 (Replaces R-410).

However, if this chap is actually talking about the old Laney R4-H he will find that it has been replaced by the Laney RB-9 which is a 300w RMS bass head amp with Bass, Treble and 7-Band Mid EQ. Two external speaker sockets for a minimum 4 ohm nominal input impedance. Designed for use with the Laney RB410 and RB115 Richter bass cabinets.

Frankly though - even though Paul Gray used Laney at one point I wouldn't waste my time with them. I don't like Laney at all. They always come across as a poor man's Peavey to me. I'll stick to my Hiwatts thank you!

Hope that helps! Means nothing to me - I'm a drummer ;-))
