Because it's popular, it's a simple as that. If Westlife make a record, and 59 million people in this country hate it, that's unfortunate for them, but if the other million buy it, that's a result! Any commercial artform will appeal to the lowest common denominator in its audience. 'Big Brother' is hardly art, but it is hugely popular, and that is what they creators are looking for. Pop pap always has, and always will sell massive quantities, you just have to ignore it and pursue your own taste through slighly less obvious channels.
Because little girls go out and buy it with their pocket money. If it wasn't for these little girls then s*1tty Westlife wouldn't be around, nor would McFly or Atomic Kitten. I blame the youth of today!
LOL Doolally girl, just like our elders blamed us for the 70s/80s/90s music (delete as applicable)!!
I know, I much prefered manufactured ***** music. "Rain Or Shine", "System Addict", "The Slightest Touch". Fab.
LOL jenstar.....ahhhh, waves of nostalgia. But hey, Five Star were great, one of the boys even designed all their fabulous clothes. Now THAT'S talent! ;-) P.S. Thanks jenstar.....I'll probably be singing The Slightest Touch all day now!!
