Mr Spudqueen has been a huge Pat Metheny fan for years. One of his albums I really liked aswell, we played it over and over again in the car when we were on honeymoon driving round the Lake District, so I was really excited when we got tickets to a concert in Manchester. Unfortunately he'd brought a new album out just before the tour (always the way!) and the music was dreadful - just awful. It included about 20 minutes (well it felt like it - actually it felt more like 2 hours) of Pat Metheny playing 'experimental' music. Dire. So, yes, some of his music is excellent, other stuff is just tosh. I wonder which you have been listening to??!!
I very much like Pat Metheny. There are a great selection of jazz artists here. Most of it being very chilled. Great late night online radio listening. I have discovered a whole host of good tunes here.

He did the score for the film, "The Falcon and The Snowman".

The soundtrack also has "This Is Not America" on it, which he did with David Bowie.

It's well worth a listen..
