can anybody out there remember what the first song was called that Muse released, the video featured the lead singer falling through space towards the ground

Actually it's not...
It's 'Bliss'. I think this is their 3rd release off their 2nd album Origin of symmetry.
Hope I'm right this time.
It's the video where Matt Bellamy has red hair!!

Bliss is indeed the video where Matt is falling (through a shaft) but that song was their 8th single release and the 6th to enter the UK Top 40.
