Frank Ifield - I remember you - in the late 50's/early 60's (Probably)
When this was asked about a week ago I said Frank Ifield with 'I Remember You' in July 1962 - even though he was born in Coventry. Other names were Rolf Harris and Judith Durham of the Seekers.
If you're sticking strictly to solo artists, it was indeed the Rolfster with Two Little Boys in 1969. First Australian born group (erm, apart from the Sri Lankan member) to top the charts was The Seekers with I'll Never Find Another You in 1965, followed by The Carnival Is Over the same year.
