Hi Mrnewlywed think I may have replied to a post by your other half lol

I DJ and although I use a laptop and have done solidly for the last 2 years the only program I use is media player. People will tell you to use virtual dj or this or that but personally I like to keep things simple and use something that doesnt cost me anything. A lot of DJ's try and over complicate and spend hundreds if not thousands on technology they dont need. I use media player and just fade it up/down at the end of one song start of another and no-one is bothered about it being professional mixed as long as your playing the music they want to hear people couldnt care less lol.

I have used media player for 2 years and have not had one single problem with it. I use limewire (free version) for all my downloads and have downloaded 3000 songs to date with no problems.
Also worth invested/copying some mastermix cd's especially jock in a box and party in a box they have gotten me out of trouble loads of times lol
maybe old fashioned but i still use cd/mini disc. you have to get a licence for copies on your computer and if you get caught with illegal down loads you've had it. i know cos i got a caution for having copies of my own bought cd/viynal(never could spell that) on mini disc. good luck with whatever you decide. and as said earlier by the rev it's not in the mixing it's giving them the music they want. i always think that basicly i'm being paid to go to ther people's parties. enjoy.
Mastermix CD's are very good as I nearly have the Classic Cuts Collection which has 101 disc's on stuff like Soul, Reggae, Disco Hits, Funk and stuff too much to mention but whatever you do DON'T get the mastermix discs that are just mixed into each other they sound good but some of the tracks don't go at some disco's you do and to be honest how can you call yourself a DJ when all you do is slap on a 30 minute mix instaed of picking the right tracks for the right gig for the right time.

Oh and mixing is for clubs not mobile, ive never in my 15 years of mobile discoing played a mix cd there just for amateurs, happy hunting on the music.

Oh and if you get all of the Now That's What I Call Music cd's then that's all you really need most of the time.

email me if you require any further help.

Eddie
