Assume he fingering needed to produce the note D4. The player overblows the instrument by opening the speaker hole. Q1) What would you expect the new note to be. (Q2) By considering the effec that opening the speaker hole has on the resonances of the clarinet's air column, explain the answer to Q1. (Q3) What is the name of the register that the new note falls

what is the note D4...i play the clarinet and have never come across it being called that. are you talking about the one that is 2 octaves above the D above middle C or the one after top C??

I'm assuming that the note D4 is the D one tone above middle C in the treble clef - in which case the answer to your first question is A5 (the A one ledger line above the stave). This note (A5) falls in the 'clarino' register of the clarinet.
