Hello - any suggestions for what me and my future wife can sing together at our wedding reception?
I want us to sing a karaoke duet and I want it to be something fun and different... NOT THE USUAL SUGGESTIONS!
Thanks. G.

kylie and jason, I have always wanted to sing this.
How much of a sense of humour? How about:

Kids-Robbie & Kylie ( if you're thinking of starting a family!)
Under Pressure-Queen & David Bowie
Just the two of us-Grover Washington/Dr Evil
Beauty and the Beast-sorry!
Question Author
Haha - Beauty and the Beast - now that's what I'm talkin about!
or how about the ultimate:

Paradise by the dashboard light-Meatloaf!
Paula abdul and that stupid cat thing
Do you really want to hurt me - Culture Club

Perfect Day - various artist, so you could do different voices, Tom Jones etc

Come What may - Moulin Rougue
Paradise by the dashboard light? everyone will be asleep lol

D;Ream - Things can only get better
Gun and Roses - Welcome to the jungle

What about Shotgun Wedding? That`ll get `em talking.
duets people, duets
Do you mean "Beauty and the Beast" by David Bowie?? a great song, but not a wedding one!!!

Talking about the great man,

1) Let's Dance
2) Modern Love
3) Changes (due to marriage!!!)

How about "I'm Your Man" by Leonard Cohen and the bride can change her bits to "You're my man"

If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner
Take my hand
Or if you want to strike me down in anger
Here I stand
I'm your man
If you want a boxer
I will step into the ring for you
And if you want a doctor
I'll examine every inch of you
If you want a driver
Climb inside
Or if you want to take me for a ride
You know you can
I'm your man

Ah, the moon's too bright
The chain's too tight
The beast won't go to sleep
I've been running through these promises to you
That I made and I could not keep
Ah but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby
And I'd fall at your feet
And I'd howl at your beauty
Like a dog in heat
And I'd claw at your heart
And I'd tear at your sheet
I'd say please, please
I'm your man

And if you've got to sleep
A moment on the road
I will steer for you
And if you want to work the street alone
I'll disappear for you
If you want a father for your child
Or only want to walk with me a while
Across the sand
I'm your man

If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you

Save your love for me - Renee and Ronata

Kitsch at its best.

Or Girl Like You by Edwyn Bobbins off the Shirehorses album.

I think 'Save your Love' would be a total winner - although I am struggling to persuade Sarah of its merits!
Excellent suggestion though.
that would crack me up if I was to see that. Good choice :-)
I Want to Know What Love is.... not really a duet, but you could do alternate solo verses and together on the chorus. Cheesy power ballads.... yum!
m62902

I have the perfect song:

Something Stupid by Frank/Nancy Sinatra (or the modern cover by Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman).

I think you'll find that this is the best suggestion by far.

I rock!
We've Only Just Begun - The Carpenters (v.cheesy!)

S.O.S. / Take A Chance On Me - Abba

Could be adapted as duets with added comedy appeal!!?
Tribute- Tenacious D. One of you could be Jack Black, the other could be the devil. Up to you who is who!
Inspite of ourselves by John Prine and Iris Dement.

I don't know if the local Karaoke will have it but make them earn their money by getting hold of it.

The man and woman sing a verse each and the chorus is sung together, its a really nice song, all about married life.

In Spite of Ourselves
John Prine
(sung with Iris DeMent)

She don't like her eggs all runny
She thinks crossin' her legs is funny
She looks down her nose at money
She gets it on like the Easter Bunny
She's my baby I'm her honey
I'm never gonna let her go

He ain't got laid in a month of Sundays
I caught him once and he was sniffin' my undies
He ain't too sharp but he gets things done
Drinks his beer like it's oxygen
He's my baby
And I'm his honey
Never gonna let him go

In spite of ourselves
We'll end up a'sittin' on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, we're the big door prize
We're gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts
Dancin' in our eyes.

She thinks all my jokes are corny
Convict movies make her horny
She likes ketchup on her scrambled eggs
Swears like a sailor when she shaves her legs
She takes a lickin'
And keeps on tickin'
I'm never gonna let her go.

He's got more balls than a big brass monkey
He's a whacked out weirdo and a lovebug junkie
Sly as a fox and crazy as a loon
Payday comes and he's howlin' at the moon
He's my baby I don't mean maybe
Never gonna let him go

In spite of ourselves
We'll end up a sittin' on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, we're the big door prize
We're gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts <
if not Failing my previous answer. Me and the wife sing Perfect 10 by The Beautiful South
Will you still love me tomorrow - Dusty Springfield
No wait you said fun and different, brilliant tune anyway though...
As for fun and different, how about Bring your daughter to the slaughter by Iron Maiden? Or Married with Children off Definately Maybe by Oasis, verse each perhaps?
Or how about this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6raVzrbqrM&mod e=related&search=
