There used to be a singing Monk around this time. We saw him at Preston and he played a guitar also I think. He was dressed as a monk. We cannot remember his name nor any of his songs.

I remember him, he had dark hair with the bald bit on top and a beard. The name Father Brian has come to mind, but I'll keep thinking.
This reminds me of a priest/monk from Liverpool who sang and busked. I cannot for the life of me remember his name , and Googling hasn't helped.

Was he from Liverpool ?

I can remember him in rough brownish burlap and I remember a friend of mine's Catholic mum going to see him.

Hmmm - I'll give it some more thought and some more Googling !
Yeah Claguey - I'm thinking balding with a beard as well.

I think he was bald, but the name Father Brian doesn't ring a bell. My friend says Father Abraham but I think he was with the Smurfs!
I think I've found the person I meant

But he seems to have been around in the 90s - whether he was around from the 70s onwards - I don't know.
I kind of remember this guy too. I'm not sure if its the same guy in JDOvengloves (very very sad) link though. (Talk To the Hand Talk to The Hand !!!!!!!). The monk may have been on Opportunity Knocks or New faces at one point.
Glad to see someone getting my nickname origin correct !
Was all this about the time that Liverpool was European City of Culture? Or maybe the origin of the world famous Merseysound ?
