Marvin Gaye is known for singing the song God is Love in 1971. I remember another group sang that song originally in 1970-this version was slower than the one sang by Marvin. Can you tell me the name of that group please?

Machecoul

The Allmusic website lists Marvin Gaye as one of the writers of the song and only lists one other version of his song which was recorded in 2006.

There are plenty of other songs with the same title though.

Now this is an interesting puzzle.
