I am considering purchasing a laptop and would want to get an external soundcard (not techie enough to be able to install anything onto a laptop) with multiple inputs that I would be able to use with my home studio package (Sonar Home Studio 4). I would probably only need 4 inputs realistically and am a naturally tight-fisted soul so I'm also not too keen to spend a great deal!! Any ideas?
