I have been trying to find out the name of a powerful russian sounding peice of music with voices that I thought was written by Poledouris for The Hunt for Red October. I've bought the film and the soundtrack but its not on it. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Thankyou

I think the piece you are thinking of is Poledouris' interpretation of the russian national anthem. Google that and see if it helps, but i think you'll find this is correct

Are you thinking about a piece used in Crimson Tide? It's also been used in The Simpsons, in an episode called Simpson Tide.
It might be the theme from the film 1492 - A Conquest of paradise by Vangelis
