I'm not sure if I should be on this site or on the music site, but I'll try this one first. Could any one tell me, how many grooves there are on an undamaged 12" LP please? Many thanks

One per side=2
Yes, normally 2.
Except for the Monty Python record.
It had 2 grooves, each with a different track, on both sides - so when you play it, you never know which track you're going to hear! 2 x 2 = 4 grooves. Surprised those who weren't in the know.

Thank you both so much. It just shows how much I know, I thought all those slight indentations in the record were grooves, and I thought I'd be counting till Christmas!
Bluebell, if you are looking for an explanation to the answer, it is that the groove on each side is a spiral starting at the outside and finishing at the centre, i.e. one continuous groove.

Now I feel REALLY thick Dodgyshirt! I'm only on question 5 of this quiz, and there's another 95 to go. Tings don't look good do they? Thank you very much for coming back. It's a good thing you can't see how embarrassed I look.
