Macartney's drummer

Does anyone have any information about the drummer in the Macartney band. I saw him in a video of his USA 2002 tour and his drumming was FABULOUS. Never seen him before (or perhaps he's been around but I never noticed him).

Seems his name is Abe Laboriel Jr and he's done session work with a variety of people from BB King and Duran Duran to Scritti Politti, Vanessa Carlton and the immortal Johnny Hallyday - without ever, it seems, joining a band full-time. I saw him at The Back In The World gig at the NIA in Birmingham a couple of months ago and he was good. The whole backing group were brilliant. I was blown away by the extent to which the original studio music was recreated live. The drummer was cool - a bit crazy but cool :)
