was wondering if any of you out there have met any bands or singers, and were suprised by either them being really nice or horrible? not what you expected them to be like.

Yes I have, lots ... and they were all great people to work for.

I'm not naming names, no-one will believe me on here, so what's the point.
...years back when I was 19 I met Cozy Powell, my boyfriend's dad used to look after his holiday property, he was such a down to earth a lovely and generous man, sadly missed indeed...

...I was at art college with Gryff Rhys, the lead singer from the super furry animals, he was very aloof and "too cool for school " even back in those days,( but I guess we were all the same, mean and moody arty teenagers)...
I have also met lots, again there is no point in putting names up here as people wouldn't accept it as the truth a bit like naz. Some are a$$es some were wonderful.. some have left me with fantastic memories that I will treasure for ever.
I'm happy to number quite a few musicians amongst my friends and acquaintances and to be honest they are mostly quite a normal cross-section of people. Some of them are incredibly nice people and have probably often been given the opportunities to work because of their 'good atitude'. One or two of them are quite shy under normal circumstances, but 'come to life' once on stage and performing. I reckon a musician's personality comes across in their work, so it is easy to spot the a$$holes by listening to them. I agree there's not much point in 'name dropping' as it just sounds like showing off.
I kissed Debbie Harry on stage in Feb1978...
Ive been knocking around for quite some time and met many bands,/artistes etc. over the years (1977 to present ) in the main they are genuinely nice people, one of the nicest if not THE nicest (and I hold my hands up ashamedly,as it's not my cup of tea musically) was Junior (Giscombe) on the Red Wedge tour 1984, an absolutely fantastic man.even went out of his way to go to the bar and buy my wife and myself a drink.

Maybe not everyones idea of a high profile star (these days:-)) but Pete Shelley of ********* fame is also one of the nicest people you could meet.

Have met a few "higher" profile types (in the eyes of the press perhaps) , but nothing really bad to report ?

I've met a few too (husband is a musician) I was always more suprised at who was shorter or taller than I thought (Nearly but bigger or smaller but thought you might get the wrong idea LOL)
Angus Young from AC/DC must be the smallest man on the planet!
i met my homie akon on a backstage tour at the smash hits party thing in dec last yr...was fantastic cause it was all free, my mate won a competition on the radio go centre front row seats thrown in as well!

didnt actually wana be in the photo with him...only decided to take one of him after i passed him for the 3rd time but then he was really friendly & pulled me into the pic as well.

good man that akon!
