I'm really enjoying smiley faces (Gnarls Barkley... spelt right?!) at the moment and think it captures summer pretty well. What is your current fav song? Or a song that captures your current mood?

While I'm here, (it'll save another post) what's your favourite love song, mine is either kiss from a rose or accidently in love I think.

Cheers

Favourite song at the moment is definitely 'City of Delusion' off the new Muse album. I can't stop mouthing the words, even on the tube. So I'm officially one of those people that you try to avoid eye contact with. ;-)

I'll think about the love song.

If it was me I'd sing along with you... good choice!

Do think about the love song.

Dare I say 'Against all Odds' by Phil Collins? I must be able to think of one that I like better than that!

Hey Spanner,

I haven't heard the whole albulm but it's got fantastic ratings and what I did hear I liked. Perhaps when Nick comes back he'll give us a quick review!
Fave current song is probably the Guiilemots' Made Up Lovesong #43.

Fave love song is The Luckiest by Ben Folds.
Current fave song for me has to be Rogue Traders' Voodoo Child.
Question Author
Nice choice with the Ben Folds.

Am also liking voodoo child... definately makes me have a bit of a boogie in the bedroom.

So much good music taste on here.
The Muse Album

Slight change in direction for them, as they added alot more elctro/synthesizer stuff on there, and the comeback single SBH really demonstrates that. I'd recommend it to anyone, and as ever there are moments of ludicrously overblown pomposity - I'm thinking the final track, called Knights of Cydonia. Title says it all really. It opens with the sound of galloping hooves and what can only be described as laser guns. But then that's why I love them. You don't have to be singing about not being able to pull girls and buying chips on a Friday night to be a decent rock act.
I'm going to take Maximo Park's "I Want You to Stay".

I stand by the Collins though China. If you've got a jukebox in your pub, I'm going to stick it on repeat. Every jukebox has the Collins greatest hits.
thanks for that supernick. I've always liked them so im sure i wont be disappointed. they were having an interview on sky the other day and they said they were fed up with sounding ...cant rememeber the word but on the lines of woosy!! hahah made me laugh.

Arrgh Nick... don't make me bar you! ;0)

Ok... concedes that Phil Colins is usually on every juke box... but that doesn not make it right!

That said... Genesis do have some good songs...
Coincidentally I was just listening to The Luckiest by Ben Folds while out buying a lunchtime sarnie!

My current favourite songs are The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song by The Flaming Lips, It Overtakes Me (again, by the Lips) and Nitty Gritty by Primal Scream. They sum up my mood pretty well at the moment.

Love song.....hmm.....haven't bought any for a while.
The new Razorlight single is a great tune and has me singing along to the radio.

Sittin on the dock of the bay by Otis Redding is my all time favourite song and a great summer song too.
It's not very original to go for the current no. 1, but there it is - Lily Allen's 'Smile'. I'd resisted it for the first couple of times I heard it, but now I think it's utterly charming, a little bit Cardigans-ish, and just about as perfect a summer pop song as you can get.

And...it's not current, but I was listening to it yesterday, it's more of a song about wanting than love, and the first line is the none-too-catchy 'I don't believe in an interventionist God'; 'Into My Arms' by Nick Cave.
