I've heard good things about the answer bank, so here goes ...

I'm looking for the title of a song I heard during the late 1960s (1967-1969). All I can remeber is the first word, but I don't know how to spell it - Kiryaya.

It was a choir singing it, very "world music" before the term was coined.

Can someone help please?

Regards, Brian

I can't help with the music, unless the word is Kriya, and this site may help. This is the Kriya Octet, also involved with the Occidental Choir. They seem to use some African instruments, so that may be relevant to your memories..

I have found that Kiryaya is a place in Madhya Pradesh, India. So you may be looking for an Indian choir.

Happy hunting. It's so annoying to not be able to find a tune after years of searching. I wish I could help more.

from the seventies Africa by Toto?

Wild guess time....maybe stupid too but....this sounds suspiciously like Kumbaya by The Sandpipers release in 1969!

Hope this helps!
