No and no. The internal struggles that split the original line-up - particularly the controling attitude of Axl Rose show no sign of having been addressed. The majority of the historic line-up are no quite happy in another band, and Axl Rose is taking out a few musicians he likes recording with at the moment, and calling it Guns 'n' Roses.

If the original line-up were to reform, it wouldn't be Guns 'n' Roses, it would be a group of musicians who used to be Guns 'n' Roses - the logic is a firm reason why most 'reformations' should be left alone. As the voice in Don Henley's head so wisely told him "Don't look back, you can never look back ...."

Legendary bands should leave their legend frozen in time, not embarass everyone by trogging round in an old-and-frankly-disinterested-but-we-need-the-money shambles posing as a 're-formed' band.

i see your point andy-hughes, but i still cant help wanting to see them as thay were, although your right-it wouldnt be like it was!
So whats the line up in the concerts in the links I posted?
We agree then mandie73. One of my regrets is never having seen The Beatles or Jimi Hendirx perform, but bands are a musical shooting star, they form, burn brightly, and fade away. Those with dignity do so leaving a body of work to be enjoyed and appreciated - others, and I have to add Axl Rose in here, fail to accept that the merry-go-round has carried on long after they stepped off, and trying to get back on may cause severe injuries to reputations and pride all round for them, and a sour taste for their fans. Appetite for destruction? Of course, but your stomach is full now Axl, let someone else finish the ride.

no no there were tooooo many chiefs and not enough indians in the band, fantastic as they were and fantastic as they will sound every time we here them if thet got back togather they would all probablies end up killing each other sad as it is!!! I SAY LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE.

Axel Rose is a nob....Slash was the star of the show but Axels ego was too big....he wanted to go in a diff direction to the rest...a more pompous direction as opposed to hard rock.......so no

I really can't believe that they are charging 37.50 a ticket for their warm up London Show before Download.

I mean if it were the original line-up (which wouldn't happen) then mybe that would be justified...but charging that just to see Axl Rose and a bunch of session musicians essentially is well out of order. (especially when it only cost 22 to see Velvet Revolver last year)
