Ravi Shankar for one. I guess they would have used any number of sessionists for extra instrumentals, as do most recording artists of this kind.
they used many members of the london symphony orchestra when making all you need is love, particularly the string and brass sections.incidentally, ravi shanker never played on a beatles track or if he did was never credited,he did though teach george harrison how to play the sitar and later signed to the apple label where his first release was "joi bangla/oh bhaugowan released in aug 1971.the album raga was released in december of the same year.eric clapton is believed to have played on here comes the sun but this has never actually been confirmed, although the mid section of here comes the sun was lifted from a collaboration between harrison and clapton called badge, which was released by cream.there was also a rumour that ringo star left the beatles whilst recording the white album because paul wasn't happy with ringo's efforts and wanted to use a studio session drummer, again unconfirmed.hope this helps
Eric Clapton, no less played on "While my guitar gently weeps". Billy Preston played organ on "Get Back".
