I was very foolish in my teenager years, about 10 yrs ago i experimented with speed, i used to take quite alot over 2-3 days, weekends, then go out and drink too (no excuses, i am very ashamed of myself!!!!) i stopped after about8 weeks, and began experiencing heart flutters, which made me panic, i couldnt control them, then after about a year they disapeared and returned on rare occasions, then after 2 yrs they returned for a few months, went away and rturned again about 4 yrs later in early 2nd pregnancy, for a month then i had a series of the strange heart sensations just after giving birth, lasting 5 mins i went all faint and hot. again disapeared again and returned when i was moving home about 20 months ago, and have not really gone away. i have had a stress test done, as exercise brings them on, and 7 day monitor and i have atrial and ventricular extra systole I am convinced that im going to die, and that me taking excessive amounts of speed years ago has caused this! can anyone give me any answers as my gp has just shrugged this suggestion off, saying that if speed had done damage it would get worse, i just want to know if this will ever go away and if i can have a normal life, i am off work sick coz im so scared that i will have a session of funny beats and i will be unwell and unable to go home!! help!!!

When I was 15 I had flutters in my chest also. It turned out it was Mitro Vaulve Prolaps "forgive my spelling" What happen to me was the vaulve between my second and third chaber in my heart was week, and when blood filled my second chamber and tried to go to my third chamber not all of it would go. So my heart would beat funny to try and get it out. This is how it was explained to me. The cause of my heart doing this was from all the cafine I had over the years. I used to drink 2 to 3 2litters a day of Pepsi. The Doc. told me thats what caused this. He said it can happen to anyone. I have to watch my intake of cafine now. I can only have Very very little amounts. My heart has been doing great for years now that I don't have so much cafine. I get it every once in awile, like at easter when I eat a lot of chocolate. Hope some of this helped ya.

Dave 27 and still kicking hard :-)
