My Mum used to play a record of a folk song when I was little (late 70s) all the time and she even made me sing it infront of everyone at brownies for my music badge!!
Its about a young girl who ends up killing herself ( very cheerful)
Some of the lyrics are " and in her pocket these words I found"
" and at the bottom a turtle dove so the world may know I died for love"
Its been bugging me for years. Who released it on record? and what was it called.
Thanks in advance for putting me out of my misery ( not literally, don't worry!!!!!)
