'Good' is obviously a subjective term, but I suspect that any band that feels it's perfectly okay to continue without 2/3 of their original members is more of a brand than a band, and that they'll continue to be supplied with music in a certain style by a coterie of songwriters and therefore there's unlikely to be any significant change in the quality of their output.

I find it vaguely interesting that the replacement is quite phyisically similar to Mutley; is it a key factor of the Sugababes brand that the singers are all decidely average in looks? I don't mean that as a particular slur on them, and it certainly doesn't affect whether they can sing or not but it's strange that a manufactured band should be so conspicuously out of step with the looks one might expect for such a band, given how image conscious most of them are.

Not a fan then Waldo

Well, I'm not particularly, but I was genuinely trying to answer your question and I don't think they'll change much given that none of them are songwriters or musicians; the team behind them will stay the same, so you'll probably not notice much difference.

As for their looks, I'm genuinely surprised that they are so far removed from what is normally deriguer for a manufactured pop band. It's not a bad thing - I'd like to see less emphasis on style and more on substance - but it is a bit odd.

I think the blonde one is quite attractive (although that is coming from a female perspective) but know what you mean about the other two.

The thing that strikes me about this band is that they seem to have to have an unusual first name to join - Mutya, Keisha, Heidi and now Amelle.

Wonder if they are really Susan, Jane, Linda and Lisa!!!!!

I had a bit of a discussion about this substitution with my other half last night. I work on the local crew at the Brighton Centre and the Sugababes are appearing there next year. Many tickets have already been sold. What would happen if all of those people who bought tickets complained, after all they all bought tickets in good faith to see the original line up and not the revamped version. I know in reality they would probably offer a refund to any unhappy punter, but it would make an interesting legal point as the promoters have surely entered into a contract with the ticket buying public.

BTW Happy Xmas one and all

Happy Christmas to you too!

I quite liked Mutya. Like them all actually. Even if they are manufactured. I like how they dont look like all the other groups out there, they are a bit different, have their own styles and arent the usual stick thin model types. They are real people and in my opinion better role models for younger girls and they do well to show people that everyone is beautiful in their own way.
