Has anybody else noticed how Franz Ferdinand's up coming (or maybe in progress!) tour is so overpriced?

I saw them last year in the vibrant city of Portsmouth for (off the top of my head) 13. I see a year later, they're touring in venues twice the size and charging around 25 per ticket. I understand inflation exists, but even my house hasn't gone up by over 100%!

Its called Supply and Demand my friend - a basic economic principle. Perhaps you should be really smug and not go but annoy everyone you know by saying "ooh i saw them last year before they were really big- Franz ferdinand are soooo last year"

This time there are three bands on the tour who each have to have separate crews, equipment, and sundry personel, all of whom have to be hoteled and fed for the duration of the tour. The tour is now in arena-sized venues which call for larger lighting and sound rigs which have to be rigged, de-rrigged and transported, which involves more bigger transport and more crew again.

The whole system moves up a notch, and you may be surprised to find that the additional ticket costs do not go all the way towards paying for the tour expenses - so you do pay more, but you are still getting good value for money.
