I think there is a site called Limewire for downloading singles, don't know if it's legal downloads tho, heard somone talking about it the other day.

limewire has good ranrge of songs but the free service is a little slow i personally would recommend blubster. takes about 2 mins to install and its quick not as many users as limewire tho.

winmx does still work. You have to download a file called pie patch that is associated with winmx to continue using it. Try a google search.
