The first and best known hit version of it, by Diana Ross, was a hit in 1970.
Although Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell made it a hit single in 1967. It became a hit the second time round in 1970 sung by Diana Ross.
So the 1960s. One of the better known songs by Motown staffers Ashford & Simpson (yes, the "Solid" hitmakers).
Well they joined Motown in 1967 an left in the early 70's setting up on their own, so I guess they peaked too early, although they did work with some of the best artistes.
