mp3 to m3u

why is it that when i download music in mp3 format it goes into window's in m3u, thus i can't download it to my mp3 player

please can anyone help

What software are you using for downloading?

Have you checked tools - options?

You might have it set to automatically download in the m3u format.

Just had another look - I found a page that says m3u is a win amp playlist file.

I don't use win amp I use windows media player / or creative media source.
