And a long time ago I met a young lady who played me this. And Shwarzkopf has been VE's favourite soprano ever since.

I'm not really a fan of opera, but I love Brahms.

'Song of the High Hills' by Frederick Delius. Almost unknown these days, well due for a resurgence. I grew-up to this music sounding through the house on Sunday mornings. Glad that others love Bjorling's voice. I mentioned a while back and interview with Christopher Lee. I think Bjorling tried to persuade Lee to become a singer rather than a vampire, but it didn't work out that way.

Biggest tenor(in the "star" sense) voice at that time, though, was Callas' recording collaborator (and one-time lover?).
Giuseppe di Stefano, I mean.
