and perhaps I would rather have been there but the pathos and drama and the cast were incredible!

Rather a long question title though !
Not my favourite composer, but I've been reading the reviews, and I'll bet it was wonderful. I'd really love to see an ROH production.

Last month I was at the ROH when they were live screening La Fille Mal Gardee by the Royal Ballet. There was a little horse and cart on the stage which caught on the curtain revealing the stage hands shifting the scenery around. They must have been kicking themselves that it happened on filming night.
I listened to this live on Radio Three a few days ago, and it sounded wonderful. It been a long time since I was at Covent Garden, but I saw a Ring Cycle there 25 years ago that I still talk about.
