On the beatles album 'Please Please Me' it shows the songs were done by (McCartney/Lennon) not (lennon/McCartney) Why is this?

Please Please Me was The Beatles' first album, so I'd imagine they were experimenting with the billing order before settling on the catchier sounding Lennon and McCartney. It's fairly well-known these days that many "Lennon & McCartney" compositions were not really co-writes at all, but were written by one of them, with the other making at most a minor contribution. I guess they just kept the joint writing credit for simplicity's sake.
A couple of years back Paul McCartney changed the format so his name would be first. Probably a little bit of vanity!
Macca had a hissy fit because he felt overshadowed by a dead man.
Yup, McCartney has managed to have his name put first. But that's not the story behind Please Please Me :
