I am trying to trace and buy a Frank Crumit song I heard as a child in the 40s. It was on the B side of a 78 of The Prune Song.

Since Frank Crumit released only three albums in his career, all in 1955, it's a fair bet that the song you are looking for may be on one of them. His first album 'The Gay Caballero' was reeased on the Pro Arte label, and the follow-up albums - 'Mountain Greenery' and 'Return Of The Gay Caballero' were both on the ASV/Living Era label. Your local dealer should be able to find out of the albums are available, and if so, if the song is on one of them. Failing that, the usual record dealers / fairs / websites will be your next option.
I have most of Frank Crumit's material. He released an album in the USA on the "X" label (part of RCA). It included Gay Caballero, I Learned About Women From Her, and 10 others (some previously unrelased, like "Minnie Skavinsky Skavar," in the US. I would be happy to tape the song you want -- back side of "Prune Song," which (without looking) I think is, "I'm a Specialist." If that sounds right, contact me at [email protected].
