Anyone remember Barry Blue? I used to have a few of his singles from 1973/74 and was wondering whether anyone knew what happened to him.

It seems he is still involved in the business and has written for artists such as the Saturdays.
Accpording to Wikepedia he was in Uriah Heap before he had his hits in the 70s. Can this be right?
Faded?
Question Author
Very good.
As the possessor of about 20 Uriah Heep albums I have no knowledge of Barry ever being a member and can find no mention of him on the CDs.

However, if Wiki is to be believed......

"Barry Blue (born Barry Ian Green, 4 December 1950, London[1]) is a singer / producer / songwriter from the United Kingdom. He is best known for his hit songs, "Dancin' (on a Saturday Night)" and "Do You Wanna Dance" (both 1973).

At 14 he signed to record producer Norrie Paramor whose erstwhile assistant was one Tim Rice - the producer of Barry's first song "Rainmaker Girl" which became a hit for Gene Pitney in America. Later he became bass player in the original line-up of heavy rock band Uriah Heep, followed in 1966 by a two-year period in A&R at the Bee Gees' publishing company Abigail Music. In 1970 he signed as a writer to ATV-Kirshner. His first major hit was "Sugar Me" which became a hit for Lynsey de Paul and was the first of a series of hits that they co-wrote".
remember them all...even bought some...
Well, as Heep didn't form until 1969, it's unlikely that he was in the band in 1966...
Question Author
If the Wikipedia entry is accurate he must have been only 15 when he was in Uriah Heap. I wonder whether an error has slipped in

Mark - it appears to be true, however unlikely!
Question Author
Sorry- I've done it again. Heep not Heap.
I omitted to mention that I bought the aforementioned single; the only thing in my defence is that I was ten or eleven. It was my second ever single, after Andy Kim's "Rock Me Gently".

Funny how tastes change.
Please someone do a link for 'school love'. that was my favourite!
Pretty please,I love you all and will be forever in your debt.xxxxx
