What's the best and worse live act you've seen?

My favourite's are probably Scissor Sisters, Eurythmics, Duran Duran and Radiohead.

Was quite disappointed with The Streets recently too, although thats not the worst I've seen by far. Saw Blue a couple years back, what a pile of pants that was

Muse at Wembley and Hal at the Zodiac in Oxford were superb!

I saw the girl that sang, 'your sweetness is my weekness' once. Although it was about 10 years ago, it still hurts! :-)

Radiohead, Gene and Embrace probably my best. milly: that was Michelle Gayle aka Hattie from Eastenders

The best DJ I have ever heard was DJ Tiestio at Gatecrasher at the NEC in Nov 2002. Unbelievable!

Tiesto*

Milly143-do you live near oxford?

Robie Williams was good live.

I have to say i enjoyed blue when i went to see them.

Gemma1984 - I live in Aylesbury but my bother lives in Jericho, runs a pub there.
UB40 was our worst, best was Groove Armada, who always deliver!

I saw the Streets' second tour - i loved it.  If nothing but for the comic value and the FITTY black dude with the AMAZING singing voice who was with Mike for most of the set.  He was GREAT.  Support act DJs were rubbish though!

I saw BLUE at Butlins only for the vocal talents of Lee Ryan the rest of them were pants. The best performance I'd seen especially for a 3 piece band were MUSE, the sound was awesome, Matt Bellemy what a genius!!

Best - New Order or David Axelrod
Worst - Stereo MCs

Best?  Feeder or Coldplay.  The Police and Jam were also good.

Worst?  U2 at Roundhay Park, Leeds in the Nineties.  Massive let down.

best: the Prodigy 1996 at wolverhampton civic hall. I haven't seen enough gigs to have a worst :P oh  i did see 5ive before they were famous in Pype Hayes Park, that must have been pretty dire I expect.
Prodigy for me too, at least 4 or 5 times early 90's on.  Not so keen on the new stuff though.

muse & alkaline trio are both fantastic live, ditto placebo.

foo fighters at the ULU sucked because everyone in the crowd laughed right the way through all of grohl's jokes whether they were funny or not, and whether it was at the punchline yet or not. crap crowds irritate me.

hell is for heroes were a little disappointing, but i had the misfortune of being dragged along to a Sum 41 gig back in the day, where there was THE most rehearsed 'spontaneous guitar contest' i have ever seen. sooo unoriginal.

The best AND worst I ever saw was U2.The best was at Cardiff Arms Park during their Joshua Tree tour in 1987.The worst was at Wembley in the 90s (cant remeber the year) and it was their Zooropa tour.
Best : Pink Floyd (just go and see them if they ever tour again, don't ask why), Radiohead (they made the NEC sound good, and that's no mean feat), Spiritualized at Glastonbury 92 (I like strobe lighting), Page and Plant at Reading 98 (ROCK!), Blur at Newport Leisure Centre on their A-Sides tour, James at Alton Towers in 1991, My Bloody Valentine on the Rollercoaster tour (my first gig, some amazing psychedelic effects and a huge wall of sound).

Worst : Blur at Reading 99 (I think Mr Albarn had dropped an E before coming on stage), Deep Purple at the NEC in 1995ish (Blackmore and Gillan had a go at each other and Blackmore spent the rest of the gig playing from backstage, and the sound was really bad),

Best: Led Zeppelin, St Georges Hall, Bradford...erm, quite a few years ago. Also Adam Ant at Leeds in the 1980's - pure showmanship.

Worst:U2 - what a pretentious midget that Bono is.
