On the Frank Zappa track, Let's Make The Water Turn Black, there's the line, ''Ronnie saves his numies on a window in his room.'' Does anyone know what 'numies' are? We were trying to work it out last night and could only think of one thing it could be...uuurgh!!

Well, you live and learn. I've been listening to that song for about 35 years and I always assumed 'numies' meant money or coins (derived from the Latin 'nummus' meaning coin). It goes to show that one shouldn't look for clever meanings.

Thank you Golem. It's hard to believe that the song was based on a real family. My suspicions were right and reading about it (Ajax and all) made me feel a bit queasy!!

maxi29, I had always meant to ask on AB what numies were, but kept forgetting to, so Golem's settled that once and for all, for us both. Although I've only known the song for about 12 years.

There is also further recorded reference to Ronnie, on a couple of spoken word tracks on the FZ album The Lost Episodes.
