Cheap MP3 Download site?

Can someone recommend sites for downloading music.
Also downloaded a Mp3 from itunes that will not play on the mp3 player I bought for a friend. I have an ipod which is linked to my itune account so I suspect that this is done to protect the copyright, which I think is a load of rubbish.

If you used Freecorder you could copy stuff from Youtube for free.

What type of mp3 player did you buy for a friend? Not all players can handle Apple's MPEG4-AAC format; ITunes doesn't use mp3. I don't believe ITunes uses Digital Rights Management on any songs now, so there shouldn't be a problem otherwise.

I use the Amazon.co.uk music downloader (You have to install the download software though). £3.99 for the album of the week (Every Monday). More choice of music too.
