what don't you get from a notebook. i only need email, browsing, poker, somewhere for my music and photos. thank you.

A laptop and a notebook are exactly the same thing. They are just different names for the same thing.
Or do you mean NETBOOK?
A netbook is a small "laptop" with no CD/DVD drive, and with a smaller screen and keyboard.
They often run Windows 7 Starter, a sort of cut down version of Windows 7.
You can do all the things you want - email, browsing, poker, music and photos - however you may get fed up with the small screen and small keyboard.
