In 1974 I went to see Glen Campbell in concert at Belle Vue manchester and his guitar player that he dueted with on duelling banjos was Carl jackson, lovely young guy, abit older than me and we met him after the show cos he stayed on the stage and me and my friends chatted to him.
I've just been playing my Garth CD Sevens(1996) and on the track fit for a king the guitarist is Carl Jackson, I've googled it and it's the same guy!!!
I've kissed a bloke that's worked with Garth, I'm beside myself, what should I do? I've kissed lots of blokes since then how can I reset myself?
I can't cope with this, I've had this CD since it was released.

Carl was lovely, so cute, I bought his solo album that same year because he had been so sweet to us. this is freaking me out and my friend maureen (who had the pictures) is venturing into her attic as I type, I know that Carl was something to do with bluegrass but it's all so hazy now, I spent most of 1974 and 75 stoned
aha just googled him again, I was right, he was Bluegrass plus he was with the nitty gritty dirtband for a while, i have an album of theirs with him on it now i think about it. They were amazing, never met them : ( but carl was special, my friend maureen has filled me in abit more now, apparently we have his autograph lol
mamya it's freaky, I worked in a record shop at the time and we used to get tickets to all sorts of shows but of course glen campbell had been a fave of myself and my mates since school and so we went along all starstruck but we all fell for carl, he was so cute! I think I have wiped alot of years from my memory banks as I am sure I knew about this, though strange that I can't remember,
HERE YOU GO Carl Jackson's musical career began in childhood. At the age of 14 he was invited to play banjo for Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys, one of the most respected bluegrass bands at that time. After five years with Jim and Jesse, Jackson tested the musical waters elsewhere before landing a job with Glen Campbell. Jackson remained in Campbell's band for 12 years.[2]
Jackson continued to work in Nashville as a songwriter and musician. Between 1984 and 1985, he charted three singles on the Billboard country music charts, including the #44 hit "She's Gone, Gone, Gone".[1] Jackson was also named Bluegrass music's MVP in 2006. He also earned the International Bluegrass Music Association's Song of the Year award in 1990 for "Little Mountain Church House", which was recorded by Ricky Skaggs and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Jackson has written songs performed by Glen Campbell ("Letter To Home"), Garth Brooks ("Against the Grain", "Fit for a King"), Alecia Nugent ("Breaking New Ground"), Terri Clark ("Hold Your Horses"), and Rhonda Vincent ("I'm Not Over

this is what I've just said to Maureen on the phone, we met Glen Campbell in 1974 and he had worked with John Wayne, and Kim Darby and she had worked with Pete Duel and we met Carl Jackson who has worked with Garth , it's like a little bubble of my own I don't want to burst! I never met George Best but I came extremely close
