When i went to alton towers, the good charlotte geeks were playing by the Nemesis. Needless to say they were rubbish. Just lots of young girls wearing their Kurt Cobain hoodies (who i assume they associate with so well) off the market. And they held up the ride, dreadful music, dreadful look, dreadful fans, dreadful

robbieh, you have right to your opinion of my second favourite band, but I think you're being a little narrowminded. You don't have to like GC, but they are not rubbish! They're greatly talented in a lot of stuff, write catchy songs, actually write their own songs, and are nice guys, what more do you want? Why do you call them rubbish? Why? Why? And that was harsh about the Kurt Cobain fans, and just to let you know, they're not the only fans, and there are plenty of male fans as well as female, and there are way more of us fans than you haters, so there. >:-p

They all wear the same cheap black hoodies - admit it. Its like they got left behind by the rest of society and found friendship at the same market stall in Uglysville
Question Author
I dunno, I don't know much about Kurt Kobain so what his fans wear doesn't really concern me.
Yeah but all the ugly teenage kids into pop rock wear black hoodies with his picture on - its like a religion for spotty sweaty ugly grunge kids. As with all things in the pop rock world, its so uncool that its become cool!

That's stereotyping, plain and simple. People like you are what punk rockers rebel against! (no serious offence intended)

So you trying to say fans of Good Charlotte are "punk rockers"? They're just jumping on th popular bandwagon that all their 13 year old school friends like. If they'd been around 5 or so years ago, they would have been into Steps or some other band with heavy airplay on commercial radio. Its a fad, you'll grow out of it

Question Author

Er, no, I'm not saying all GC fans are punks. I'm not one, not really. And I don't know anyone else who likes Good Charlotte. Good Charlotte are not popular with the people I know, or many of the people on the net, and I wouldn't like a band just cause alot of other people like them anyway. No, I don't think I'll be growing out of GC anytime soon. I know they're a real band, and I'm a real fan. And Good Charlotte were around five years ago.

You may well be a real fan, and props for that, but they are no way are a "real band"!
Question Author
Could you clarify why?
you can tell by just listening to their lyrics and the fact that they have major commercial backing. Guitar-pop thats all. About the same as Busted and Rooster!
Question Author
How many Good Charlotte songs have you actually heard in your lifetime? Your reason simply isn't good enough. Basically you don't like them because they have "commercial backing" and because of their lyrics. Well, that first reason is completely unreasonable and stupid--you can't dislike a band simply because they are popular, or are on MTV alot. It's all about the music. I don't like Busted, but honestly, I don't know why they're picked on so much. Y'all need to back off hardworking, talented and true bands like GC and focus your anger on the fake and talentless posers like Avril Lavigne. Alot of GC's lyrics are deep and beautiful, while others are light and not to be taken all that seriously. They're a rock band with options, as Joel Madden once put it. There are little bits of punk, alternative, pop, even some hip hop and reggae. But overall they are a very good rock band. Just because you call them guitar-pop doesn't make them so. I love GC.
Your right just because i say so they're not - very true. The fact is they are classed as this! 100% pure pop!
Oh and when you ask have i heard many sings - i ENDURED them performing live to the little kiddies moshpit when i was trying to enjoy myself on a day out. I have heard them live and i've heard far too many of their songs when my 12 year old cousin has played their album(s)
Question Author
Hehe, I know how you feel, having to endure music you don't like. But I don't care what GC are classified as by critics or losers. Maybe some of their songs are pretty popular, but their fans don't just like GC because of a few popular songs and because they're the new "trend". Fans relate to their songs and the members are all different, funny and interesting people. And I saw them in concert back in March--I thought they rocked!
Question Author
BTW, reading over my earlier posts in this thread, please pardon how stupid some of them sound, and GC are now my favourite (not second fav.) band.
