No, not THE Argus ... (our local paper).

This is the album, Argus.

Someone posted a thread recently, asking if Argus was Wishbone Ash's best album.

So I ordered it ... and it came today.

I feel a bit guilty because, out of principle, I don't usually buy anything from Amazon.

But, hey ho ... I'll smack my own bottom later.

In the meantime ... I need a car journey so I can find out what Argus is actually like.

It is indeed their best album, JJ - however, that's not actually saying very much...

Don't expect Selling England...
They just played The Jook House in Worthing.

The week before it was The Strawbs.

Oh how the mighty have fallen etc etc

Oh. Okay, MR.

Well, it was only £4 something.

The sleeve note says it's an "intricate and masterful composition".

I trust you got the remastered version. I have it too, but I very rarely listen to it...
LOL! Well it's hardly likely to say that it's a meandering pile of pseudo-prog dirge, now is it...? ;-)
Question Author
Yes. On the spine it says Remastered and "Revisited" ... whatever that means!
Cleaned up. A bit louder. Extra tracks.
Question Author
Oh, right.

> I am guessing it is the kinda music that has a 15 min guitarwank solo in each track,

There's a bit of that, though not as much as you might imagine with two (so-called) lead guitarists.

It's just, well, not very good, especially when placed in the context of what was happening around them at the time in the genre that they so desperately wanted to become part of...
Question Author
Oh, look, it was only £4.93 (+ 65p shipping).

If it's rubbish, it can go in the wheelie bin.
