Sheffield Arena- parking at Meadowhall??

We're going to Sheffield Arena and I'm wondering about setting off early to avoid the teatime traffic and calling at Meadowhall for something to eat first.
If I leave the car parked at Meadowhall is it easy to get to Sheffield Arena? and would the car park be open late enough for me to leave my car there? Or is it easy to park at the Arena, never been before.
