I download songs from my own collection to my ipod and they want paid for displaying the album cover!

You'll find most album art on Google Images... download to your desktop and insert in to the 'add artwork' field within the relevant track info box.

Do they really charge extra for the album art? that is taking a liberty!

No need, bobbi, I believe you and agree it is a liberty (but as I don't use apple products it doesn't effect me)

Bobbisox -You must have requested a cover from iTunes- they only supply artwork WITH online purchases from iTunes Store. When I load up from my existing collection -I just type the name of the artist in Google images and always get what's required there- open the particular image, copy & paste straight into iTunes window that says 'drag artwork here' bottom left of interface.....Simple task -and looks great when displayed in cover flow mode.
