Thanks guys!
I have a 1982 reissue with an insert but I am looking to buy an original so wanted to know!
I was -3 in the year this came out so alas do not have the memory of this great day!!! ;-)
It is one of my favourite Bowie albums and (as with many classic albums) vinyl is the best way to listen to it!! :-)

xx
Oi, watch who yer calling old astronette!!! lolzors

I was same age. I inherited my brothers albums.

As the definitive Bowie aficionado, I am certain the original had it on.

I have an original, but alas do not have a record player. The only way to tell a first pressing will be if the artwork includes an erect dogs penis. These are very rare and demand upwards of 500 to collectors.

Thrasher - lol - my mates dad leant me his albums!!!

Shadowman - I wanted to know if there is a paper insert with the words to Future Legend not the actual track..

xx
@Shadow Man

Are you serious or ripping the P***???

I have one of them! Its shows the dogs tackle!

My brother (who I got this lot from) had the lot and he had all of pink floyd too. I have been offered a lot of cash for the floyd stuff several times but never the bowie stuff apart from a pic disc.
The second pressings show a penis, but the original, original had it protuding like a wet lipstick.

He is correct. Bowie stuff goes for ridiculous prices. The Man Who Sold The World original dress cover is worth a few quid. Have a look on e-bay or other record auction sites. I have seen records that I've bought for a couple of quid go for amazing prices! If you have Liza Jane that recently went on E-bay for over a grand!

From wiki.

The cover art features a striking half-dog, half-Bowie figure painted by Guy Peellaert. It was controversial as the full painting clearly showed the hybrids genitalia. Very few copies of this original cover made their way into circulation at the time of the album's release. According to the record-collector publication Goldmine price guides, these albums have been among the most expensive record collectibles of all time, as high as thousands of US dollars for a single copy. The genitalia was quickly airbrushed out for the 1974 LPs gatefold sleeve, although the original artwork (and another rejected cover featuring Bowie in a cordobes hat holding onto a ravenous dog) was included in subsequent Rykodisc/EMI re-issues.

I have my Bowie collection independently insured for over 15k.

He is very collectable.

@ALL POSTERS-

Thanks guys, I looked up wiki. I don't have an eBay account or any auction thing at all. I am not selling anyway. I got loads of my brother and many never even opened.

I have old cassette tapes of Bauhaus in practise sessions, I have cassettes of studio recording (not available ever in any shops) of bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbeth, and I think the gold disc I have of Stiltskin's Burning Inside would probably be worth a bit???
What do you have that may be rare?

If you sell, which I hope you don't, find a specialist Bowie auction, not Ebay.

I have just sold a limited edition Glass Spider tour puffa jacket (I have 2) for $450 to some overweight American.
@Shadow Man-

I have boxes of Bowie stuff in the Garage. There is some stuff that actually belongs to David Bowie himself. You reckon its worth a lot? I have no idea where to start when it comes to pricing the stuff. I have about 80 picture discs (Different artists/songs) Any advice where to start or get info?
Question Author
I would never sell my Bowie stuff on E-bay (not that I want to sell any of it anyway). I go on to buy the odd thing.

Shadowman - What specialist Bowie auction sites do you reccommend. I am currently trying to value my collection.
