I remember hearing ages ago a track in a club and have never managed to track down what it was. Hoping you fellow music geeks out there can help identify it!

It was a female vocalist, singing (in English) a song to the tune of Bizet's Habanera, from Carmen. The style was sort of northern soul-y, and more up tempo than Habanera.

It's been a while since I posted this question, but I finally found the answer, so thought I'd post it here in case anyone else stumbles upon this! The answer is "Dat's Love" by The Vernons Girls. Enjoy!

I should have said, The Vernon's version was a cover of a song from Carmen Jones. This is Marilyn Horne's phenomenal version.
