Cutting a song before the end?

Hello does anyone know how I can cut a song before the end on i-tunes? Do I need to download some mind of music mixing software? If so, any suggestions? Thanks in advance....

Although depending on where and when you acquired the music files from and how you have set your itunes library to be managed this might be a real pain to do.

You can do this in iTunes.

In iTunes, highlight your chosen song and go to 'get info' off the top menu bar.

Go to 'options' and you'll see 'start time' and 'stop time'.

Key in the time you want the song to stop playing at...

^ The above won't actually edit/shorten the original music file, it will just stop the track playing at the time you've specified...

If I wanted to edit/shorten the original music file/.mp3, I'd open it in QuicktimePro (I'm on a Mac but there must be PC equivalents), delete the bit I didn't want, save the shortened file with a different name and re-import it into iTunes

I use mp3Trim but there are loads of free ones out there.
