there is a roundabout near me, that for some reason loooooaaaddds of people approach from a particular road in the wrong lane - i believe!

there are 5 exits...an the approach i am referring to has 2 lanes...yet most people who want to take the 3rd exit, seem to approch in the left lane...passing 2 exits in the outer lane before turning off....

the 3rd exit is at about the 1.30pm mark on a clock face...and for some reason the sign leading up to it marks the 2nd exit as a short cut off stub...even though it is a normal road and not a dead end or anything

can anyone clarify for me that i am indeed correct in approaching this in the right hand lane, as a few times now i have had near misses from people on the left trying to turn off in the same lane - i was given the finger today!!
i am unsure if there is enough room for 2 cars to leave at the same time, no markings but the road is quite wide

cheers

general practice is,if you are leaving the roundabout at the first or second exit, you stay in the left lane. If leaving at any other exit after the second, approach the roundabout in the right lane and leave in the right lane, moving back to left lane when it's safe to do so.

There is no 'correct' lane.

The highway code merely tells you to use an 'appropriate' lane.

'appropriate', means the correct one as per the instructions and diagrams in the highway code, not just whichever youfeel like...

the signs and markings are as i mentioned above and just as any other roundabout...there is no indications of lane use etc
