My new car is due to be delivered the 1st or 2nd week in May - the tax on my current car runs out at the end of April.. obviously I don't want to have to tax it just for a week or 2...

Is there anything that says that they (the law) will give you a week or 2 to get it taxed.....?

I know you can send tax discs back for a refund, but how much will I lose out on doing this?

Thanks

No. If you own a car it must either be taxed to be on the road, or a SORN obtained to state it is off road.

You cannot drive around in an untaxed vehicle - the period of grace you refer has long gone.

You get a refund for each full month left.
