KA remote tailgate release GRRR!

when i push the button nothing happens.. not even a click... is there a relay? where is it?.. could it be the connection through the pins that touch on the pads on the rear hatch? is the solenoid in the hatch or in the rear panel?.. any help would be appreciated as it would save me hours of looking!
