Could anyone make some suggestions as to why this might happen please.Naturally i got off the road and have aborted my journey home but am now stranded[albeit at a friends house]......but cannot get to work.....i have noticed what felt like a wheel balance issue and decided to change the tyres incase a tyre was faulty also, so have two new tyres....please help with any suggestions you can think of, many thanks people........

ok thanks NazNomad, am sure its not brakes, as you say joints makes sense i guess. i have just been under the car and the driveshaft seems to move[both sides] if i push and pull towards and away from the wheel, making a clunking sound
That's normal.

What car, model, etc? Power steering I assume?
