what does DST mean? Think its something to do with traction as it flashed up during the snow.

If it IS Stability or Traction system .. Don't worry .. It shows it is doing it's job.

It will be something in French meaning Dynamic Stability Tool or similar. Certainly, as AIBags says, it's working OK if it flashes to show your traction control is working.
